1 January:
Renewed Associate Membership of SUPSI

SUPSI has renewed its associate membership with the GRP Alliance. With this renewal, the entire SUPSI – University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland is now a member of the Alliance.

SUPSI has long been active in global research partnerships, notably through its involvement in SUDAC and the work of its Centre for Development and Cooperation. Its continued engagement strengthens the GRP Alliance, which now brings together more than 35 member organisations from research and international cooperation.

1 March:
New Membership of University of Lausanne, Faculty of Geosciences and Environment

The UniL Faculty of Geosciences and Environment joined the GRP Alliance as an associate member organisation. The Faculty is active in global research partnerships, engaging in research collaborations with partners from Gabon, Greenland and Mountain Valleys in the Canton Wallis.

5 March:
Extract, Export, Evolve? A Scientific View on Commodity Trade and Sustainable Development

The GRP Alliance, in collaboration with ETH NADEL and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, hosted a workshop to present and discuss findings from an interdisciplinary literature review on commodity trade and sustainable development. Researchers shared perspectives from different disciplines and discussed with representatives from the Swiss administration and commodity trading sector the nexus between commodity trade and sustainable development.

Workshop: Communicating Impact and Value of Global Research Partnerships

As part of the Impact of Global Research Partnerships project, a workshop was held with communication experts from our member organisations to strengthen communication on the impact of global research collaborations. The session introduced the project and explored ways to better highlight impact through joint communication initiatives, while also assessing the potential for coordinating efforts within a collaborative network.

TRF: Tempting Cherries, Bitter Pits: Research Ethics in Our Quest for System Transformation

As part of the Transformative Research Forum (TRF) at the Wyss Academy for Nature, the GRP Alliance presented the revised Guide for Global Research Partnerships and contributed to discussions on sharing and applying research results in equitable and impactful ways. The workshop brought together researchers from different disciplines to reflect on research ethics, collaboration, and the role of science systems in enabling transformative change.
